Yes I know it's been a long time since I reached out to you through this medium; forgive me. The thing is these days I procrastinate a lot.
However, this one made it to press before the fever caught me gain :D
You know how we do it around here. The blog is-Everything is double double!-indicative of the fact that most things in life happen in pairs. Our focus in this post is quite interesting.
I am sure if you have been actively observing any media from Nigeria, it is no longer news that the aviation minister is under fire for approving (whether directly or indirectly) the purchase of very expensive armoured luxury vehicles for her use. The case is still being investigated at all levels. Apparently, the lady involved is a heavyweight else the first thing that should have taken place is her suspension so she or her loyalists would not interfere with investigations.
The case has dragged on for a while. We patiently await the final verdict. While this drama is going on in Nigeria, our neighbours Ghana seem to differ on how corrupt leaders should be dealt with. A female minister-a double for the ladies-was quoted as saying that 'I will remain in politics until I have acquired one million dollars' and further that 'people who have a lot of money can control other people'. Goodness me!
I guess the Ghanian folks did not wait to see if she meant what she said or if she had the guts to carry it out, they just sacked her! After all, it is out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks right?
In these two cases, we see two women acting on greed and indeed proving to us that what a man can do, a woman can do better! These two definitely started their careers on the right path and got to the apex position they currently occupy(or used to occupy in the case of Ghana). However, the issue is that somewhere along the line, the urge to acquire wealth became larger and pushed out the need to have a good name.
Hmmm...let us all be careful. Any one can fall for the temptation. So help us God. You got comments I know! Please say that you dropped by and read the article. Then make your contributions. Thank you.
